VIP Members 2008

Mission Statement

We are committed to actively assist and support the Thousand Oaks Police Department in safeguarding the lives and property of our City's residents and businesses and to respond to public concerns in a manner which promotes a community free from the fear of crime and disorder.

The VIP Program

The Volunteers in Policing (VIP) program currently has over 80 active members who provide ancillary support to police personnel assigned to the Thousand Oaks Police Department.

In 2008, VIP members contributed a total of 34,881 hours to the program. Based on the federal volunteer wage rate of $18.77 per hour, these volunteers contributed the equivalent of $654,716.

The Police Department is very proud of these volunteers and all that they bring to help our community remain safe.
